Welcome to Peru Vacation Scout, where we try out all of Peru’s vacations so you don’t have to. No, wait a second… Ok, so we’re not so good at writing taglines, but we ARE great at taking vacations. That’s why we are here. We explore the destinations, check out the vacation packages, go on the buses, buy the tours, sleep in the hotels, drink the Pisco Sours, and then report back to you on what is awesome and what is not. We’ll point you at the creme-de-la-creme of Peru vacations.
Peru is a vast and beautiful country where you really can take many different types of vacations. From the famous surfing beaches of the north coast, to the bustling colonial-era capital of Lima, to the ancient Inca ruins of Macchu Picchu, to the “White City” of Arequipa and the deserts of the south, Peru has so much to offer that it really is impossible to do it justice in just one vacation. Unless of course that vacation is like 3 moths long. If not, we suggest breaking Peru up into different trips.
On their first trip to Peru, most people opt for the traditional Lima – Cuzco – Macchu Picchu loop sometimes with with Puno, Arequipa, or Iquitos thrown into the mix. You really can’t come to Peru for the first time and miss out on Cuzco and Macchu Picchu. The energy and history of these places is amazing, as are its friendly people and beautiful landscapes.
Other vacation options in Peru include: Iquitos and the Peruvian jungle. For the adventurous traveler, you can venture deep into the Amazon jungle to spot wildlife and navigate on the rivers that are the source of the Amazon. If you’re a surfer and beach bum, then head to Mancora and Peru’s northern coast for some of the best waves in South America. And if you’re looking for one of South America’s most incredible gastronomic experiences, then Lima is the place for you with its amazing fusion of cuisines and world-renowned chefs.
Join us as we explore Peru and bring you the best vacation options out there. And if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
